presents :: revealed!

Hi :)

It's finally time to share what presents I made!

I found this pattern for knitted mini Christmas stockings on Pinterest and thought that this would be a great, quick something to knit up for everyone while using what yarn I have.

I had to make 14 of them (yes, 14) and I wanted them to all be different and special to the person that was receiving it so some of the patterns are from the original charts in the pattern and most are from my head.
(I'm working on setting up the charts so that I can share them.)

Here they are!

If you want to see more info on this project, you can check out the information I've listed on my Ravelry projects page.

I also made a few more things, but haven't been able to give them to their new owners yet so I'll have to share those with you another time. (Along with a possible free pattern by me!)

It's nice to be able to make something from the heart for people you care about, so it only seemed right to make things for Christmas this year. I'm just happy that I got them all finished in time! LOL

Did you make many presents this year?
I'd love to see!

Have a great weekend, and I will see you Monday, friend :)

progress :: vol 10

Hi :)

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Did anyone watch the boxing match? I didn't, but I heard most of it thanks to my neighbors lol

I thought I'd update you on some things I've been working on...

Crochet:
I FINALLY finished my mom's scarf! I sat down on Thursday and thought to myself, "I'm not doing anything else so why not try to get some of this scarf done so I can just get it over with!" And I finished it that day!
 (Holding it out)
 (Close up of the pattern; sort of made it up as I went even though this pattern is not something I invented nor is it completely advanced, but I might post a how-to for this pattern in the future.)
(Here I am 'modeling' the scarf. I can never get it to look as wonderous as they do on Etsy and other places lol)

So that's that for crochet. I finished knitting my first ever hat recently too. I will post pictures after the person I made it for receives it :)

Reading:
You guys! I finished book 2 in the Harry Potter series! I am so happy haha I started book 3 already and I'm already on page 135 of 435 so I'm almost half way through. I'm proud of myself for sticking to this goal.

I gotta say, that having this blog is helping me stick to the goals I'm making for myself. I don't want to be one of those people that says I'm going to do something and then I totally flake on it because no one benefits from that and I'll not only look like a total jerk, but I'll for sure feel like one haha

What projects are you working on?
What book/s are you reading?

I'd love to hear about it :)

Don't forget to come by tomorrow for the first of this week's crochet lesson!
(P.S. There's a lot of stuff this week to learn!!!)

progress :: vol 4

Hi :)

Happy Monday friend!

How was your weekend? Do anything exciting?

I mostly worked on my pile of WIPs:

Remember John's beanie?
Well there was some of this going on this weekend:
It was a little bigger than I wanted... I pulled out 10 rows! :(
...but I finished it!!
 *phew*

I also finished another beanie I was working on for my cousin Danica (John's wife). I originally posted the beginnings of this beanie on Instagram:
...and here it is finished:
 I love the color of this beanie! The pattern is amazing also... nice and quick and looks great when it's finished.

Besides crocheting, I also read some more Harry Potter:
I'm on page 101 of 341 in book number 2 (Chamber of Secrets). Still a long way to go, but I can't wait to get through them all!!

Did anyone go to the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco this weekend?

I wanted to go so badly :'( I've been checking their Instagram feed and seeing all the amazing things that the sellers are selling... Gah! I would've loved to be there to see it all in person! I guess I'll have to wait until December to go... I already marked my calendar so now all I have to do is make sure I save up so I can grab some goodies!! I'll go alone if I have to! Lol

See you tomorrow for another Crochet 101 lesson!!
(We're learning the single crochet stitch this week!!)
