Knit Diamond ☆PATTERN☆

Hi :)

Today, I'm sharing a knit pattern I came up with recently.

I've seen this 3D cube pattern on Pinterest before, but in a crochet version.
 (via)
(via)

I wanted to make a knit version, but wasn't finding what I was looking for. So, I sat down, played around with a pattern, and this is what I came up with!
--------------------
This pattern requires you to know basic knit terminology, as well as the knit stitch.

For increases, I used the "kfb" method - bring needle into the front of the stitch as if to knit and knit (keep loop on the needle), then swing the needle to the back of that same stitch and knit through the back of the stitch. Drop the loop off the needle. 1 extra stitch made; 2 stitches made total.
--------------------
Now, to make the 3D cube, you first have to make 3 diamond shapes.

To start your diamond:

CO 2 sts.
Row 1: k
Row 2: kfb (x2) - 4sts
Row 3-4: k
Row 5: k, kfb (x2), k - 6sts
Row 6-7: k
Row 8: k, kfb, k2, kfb, k - 8sts
Row 9-10: k
Row 11: k, kfb, k4, kfb, k - 10sts
Row 12-13: k
Row 14: k, kfb, k6, kfb, k - 12sts
Row 15-16: k
Row 17: k, kfb, k8, kfb, k - 14sts
Row 18-19: k
Row 20: k, kfb, k10, kfb, k - 16sts
Row 21-22: k
~Start Decreases~
Row 23: k, ssk, k10, k2tog, k - 14sts
Row 24-25: k
Row 26: k, ssk, k8, k2tog, k - 12sts
Row 27-28: k
Row 29: k, ssk, k6, k2tog, k - 10sts
Row 30-31: k
Row 32: k, ssk, k4, k2tog, k - 8sts
Row 33-34: k
Row 35: k, ssk, k2, k2tog, k - 6sts
Row 36-37: k
Row 38: k, ssk, k2tog, k - 4sts
Row 39-40: k
Row 41: ssk, k2tog - 2sts
Row 42: BO (knit 2 sts, bring second st over first to bind off. Pull yarn through and clip tail.)

Your diamond should look like this:

Now make 2 more in your colors of choice. I chose a darker gray and a navy blue.

Next, you will sew the sides together to make your cube; like this:

And that's it!

Make a ton of cubes and sew those together to make your blanket 🙂

If you would like a smaller cube, change the number of stitches you increase to in your diamond before you start to decrease.

I wanted a bigger cube because I am making a huge blanket!

Thanks for joining me today! Please, if you use this pattern, link to your projects on Ravelry. I'd love to see your creations!

WIPs - Jan•5•2016

Hi :)

I made another video!

I think this will be a new thing for me. It's more fun to talk than it is to sit and type a post from my phone (since I have no internet where I live).

So, here are my current WIPs. Enjoy!

Thursday, September 3

long time, no post! and a challenge!

Hi :)

I know it's been a looooooong time since I last posted... Not too much of anything going on really. Just busy with my son being in school and working overnight. I haven't even really had time to sit down and crochet or knit! *GASP*! I know, so sad :'(

The reason I am posting today is because I have decided to join the Zing Anything 30 day challenge! Now, you can either join the 30 day weight loss challenge, or the 30 day skin care challenge, which is the one I have chosen to participate in.

***TO PARTICIPATE***

-Click the challenge you choose to participate in (linked above) and fill out the information needed and submit.

For both challenges:
-You will need to post a promotional image:

Participate in the CLEAR SKIN CHALLENGE

Participate in the WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE

 For weight loss challenge:
-Post a before picture with hashtags:

-Post everyday for 30 days of the lemon water you are drinking for the day with the hashtags:

Finally,
For both challenges:

Now, of course there are rules, which are posted at the bottom of the page of the information form you will fill out for your challenge, along with all the info I have provided in this post.

AND if you successfully complete your 30 days, Zing Anything will send you your choice of Zinger bottle* from their website, and you will be featured in their national Lemon Water Routine campaign!

So excited to share this opportunity with you all! I do hope you will join me :)

I will be posting my daily progress on Facebook and Instagram, so if you'd like to keep up, check there!

Here is my before
(No makeup, as required. Please be kind!)

I will post my after when the 30 days is up, as well as a side by side comparison.

Here's to challenging ourselves! And to better skin and healthier bodies!

Until next time my friend,

Ravelry Secret Santa Reveal!

Hi!
I hope you all had a great Christmas!

A few weeks ago, Erin (GimmeYarn418) had a secret santa sign up on her Ravelry group 'Thank God It's Finished or TGIF'. You answer a set of questions about yourself and choose a price range group you are willing to spend and based on the amount, you are paired with another Raveler who picked that price range.

I FINALLY had a chance to open my gift, and I was so shocked, surprised, and excited!!

My Santa was Erin! :)
*(side note: I had a dream she was my Santa, but I didn't want to get my hopes up lol)

Here are all the wonderful goodies I got!!

Modeling my gorgeous handmade kerchief!
She included the yarn she used to make it.

My sweet card :)

This great "Yarn Fund" piggy bank!
I needed one of these for sure ;)

This amazing cup cozy with my initial!
(the beautiful purple is not coming through in this photo, but it is beautiful!)

2 skeins of this beautifully rich colored yarn!

A notions/project bag made by Erin!
(LOVE the sheepies!!)

My absolute FAVORITE chocolates!!
(How did she know?!)

 Cute stationery set!

This hand lotion will keep my hands super soft while I'm knitting and crocheting ;)

 This pattern book!!
(I have had it on my Amazon wishlist for at least a year! I was so surprised to see it in my package.)

 This yummy popcorn mix!

And this super cute box filled with even MORE goodies!!

 Cute glittery ornaments!

Cute piggy Santa pen and kitty wood key chain!

This 'Merry' decoration and holiday stickers!

 Christmas themed recipe cards!

Notebook with pen and magnetic notepad!

And last, but not least, this adorable cookie cutter! Santa can sit on his bum instead of laying flat!! So so cute!!

I have to say, this time of year is a bit hard for me and a bit depressing at times, so when I got this package and finally had a chance to open it and see all the care and attention and thoughtfulness that went into packing it, it really turned this season around for me.

A huge thank you to Erin for hosting this Secret Santa event, and an even BIGGER thank you to Erin for being THE BEST, most sweetest person and Santa anyone could ask for!!

I hope you got everything you needed and more this Christmas :)
