black friday

Hi :)

How was your Thanksgiving?

Mine was great! I ate so much though... like always haha I tend to over eat at this time of year because, well I wait all year to eat all these yummy things and I just get over excited about it and start shoveling the food in. Anyone else have that same problem?

Anyone doing Black Friday shopping today?

One of these years I will partake in the Black Friday madness, but for today, I'll be snuggling under some covers with a book, maybe some hot chocolate drinking, and a nap. I think my hands and wrists need a day of rest from all of the knitting and crocheting that's been going on here.
{Can't wait to share!!!}

I found this while perusing Pinterest the other day and I thought I'd share with all you brave Black Friday shoppers out there:
Black Friday Survival Guide!

LOL!
Good luck!

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!!

Hi :)

Just wanted to pop in to say a quick Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who celebrates it today.

I hope you enjoy your time with family and friends today and enjoy eating all the yummy yummy foods!

To anyone who is going to be camped out all night somewhere for the Black Friday deals, I hope you stay warm and are able to get everything you set out to get. (One day I will be brave enough to do that! lol)

I also wanted to say a quick thank you to all my readers. You are amazing! Thank you for stopping by my little corner and checking in on what I have to share; it means a lot :)

monday, funday :: vol 11

Hi :)

I am excited about this Monday, Funday this week because I have had this on my "To Make" list ever since I saw it in my Bloglovin' feed.

(via)

The design is from Drops Design, but the sweet and talented Christine of iKnits has made a how to video and included some of her notes in her post.

If you try these, let me know! And let Christine know by posting to her Facebook page.

She has some really great beginner knitting videos on her YouTube channel that I have found super helpful, and the projects she has filmed are super cute!

Check her out!

almost here!

Hi :)

Thanksgiving is almost here!

I was going to do a bunch of round ups like I did for Halloween, but I've been so busy trying to get presents made and also working on this commission project, that I just didn't have the time to sit in front of the computer for hours to do it. (Seriously, takes FOREVER! lol)

BUT, I thought I would share some of the things that my family always has for Thanksgiving dinner.
These are not our recipes or pictures, but similar to what we would be having.

Enjoy!

So, for appetizers, we would have:

Homemade Spinach Dip with Sourdough Bread (via)

Cheese and cracker tray with a bit of salami
Cheese and Crackers with Salami (via)

...as well as chips with dips, black olives, and pickles to munch on before dinner is ready.

For dinner:

Mashed Potatoes (with gravy)
(photo via, recipe round up via)

Stuffing (via)

Sweet Potato Casserole (via)

Honey Baked Ham (via)

Dry brine turkey
Turkey (via)

...as well as some yummy veggie sides.

And for desserts:
Pumpkin Pie with Rum
Pumpkin Pie (via)

Apple Pie (via)

...and maybe some yummy cookies and a cup of coffee :)

Well that pretty much sums up what my family's Thanksgiving dinner looks like every year.

What kinds of foods do you have at your Thanksgiving dinner?

Have a great weekend! See you Monday, friend:)

Hi :)

I've been so busy working on my commission project and making Christmas presents that I really haven't had much time for anything else!

That doesn't change the fact that I am still searching for my next project!! (Am I alone on this one? lol) I do this with every new project I start, hence the project bag that is FULL of current WIPs.

Anyways, I thought I would share some pretty yarny goodness with you all today. Things I've come across from my blog reading, Pinterest, Facebook, etc.

Enjoy!

monday, funday :: vol 10

Hi :)

I figured it was time to share a knitted pattern, so today's Monday, Funday is a pretty easy cowl:

The Seed Stitch Cowl is a 'one skein, one night' cowl so it can be made in an evening.
(Try this other one skein, one night cowl pattern she has too!)

Diana of [knit and bake] has some really great knitting patterns with pictures that show some of the steps, so if you are a knitter or want to try some new patterns out, stop by her blog!

playing catch up :: vol 3

Hi :)

This week (and last week) I've been trying to get caught up on my blog reading. Since I follow 100+ blogs, it can be easy to fall behind.

After not checking my Bloglovin' for about 3 weeks, I was REALLY behind. The most behind I've ever been with my blog reading...
(via)
893 unread posts o_O
I got a headache just looking at that huge number lol

Anyway, I wanted to share a few things with you that I came across while bringing my 'unread posts' number down :)

This "Google autocomplete not working corremarshmallows" post shared by Kaelah - Super funny! The things people search...

Kaelah also shared this amazing artitst's work:

...and also this beautiful woman:
Time for a change: When Amanda's marriage came to an end after 10 years, she moved to the small market town of Beverley to live near her parents and underwent a style makeover
Out and about: She says people would come up to her and tell her how amazing her tattoos were. But often, that's as far as the conversation went

Marinke (Wink) over at A Creative Being posted about a program called Cambodia Knits, which "is a social enterprise working with poor communities in and near the capital city of Phnom Penh. Their goal is to produce beautiful, high quality and unique hand-made products while providing fair and flexible employment opportunities." [Check out Wink's post here.]

Here is a video from their Kickstarter page that explains a little bit more.

If you want to stay updated or you want to help, you can 'Like' their Facebook page, 'Follow' on Twitter, go to their Kickstarter page, and their website.

This brooch from Mad Madam Mel is SO cute!!!

Sarah from Bring More Yarn shared this in her weekly round up. I love the illustration and the saying.

I still have a bunch more to catch up on, as well as working on my WIPs.

I'll be sharing with you soon :) Have a great weekend!!

{...on a Thursday.}

Hi :)

This week I'm sharing another cute garland:

Fall Lace Garland
(via)

These lacy motifs are great and work up in no time :)

Lisa (from goodknits) has included both written instructions and a pattern diagram, so if you know how to read a diagram better than a written pattern, you can definitely work this pattern.
